Een zwevende wandplank is functioneel en een lust voor het oog. Wandplanken kunnen gebruikt worden als reguliere kastplanken. Er kunnen spullen op tentoongesteld worden of opgeslagen. Verschil tussen olie en lak
Er zijn een aantal verschillen tussen olie en lak waar rekening mee kan gehouden worden bij het maken van een keuze. Een gelakt exemplaar sluit het eikenhout af van de buitenlucht. Hierdoor stopt het met ademen en verkleurt het uiteraard niet. De lak dient ook als bescherming tegen vocht en vuil. Een gelakte zwevende wandplank is eenvoudig schoon te houden. De lak maakt de houten wandplank ook (zijde)glanzend. Een geolied exemplaar is niet glanzend en heeft een meer matte kleur. Dit geeft sfeervolle, rustige uitstraling. De olie trekt in het hout en zorgt ervoor dat dit niet uitdroogt. Geoliede wandplanken zijn wel kwetsbaarder voor vocht of vuil. Dit kan in het hout trekken. Een geolied exemplaar geeft de wandplanken een natuurlijkere, warme uitstraling.
Verschillende varianten
Zwevende wandplanken zijn in zes tinten/kleuren verkrijgbaar. Onbehandeld, geolied of gelakt. De meest verkochte zwevende plank is de onbehandelde. Afhankelijk van de toepassing kun je de plank onbehandeld gebruiken of nadien zelf behandelen met de olie die past bij je eigen interieur. Olie geeft de zwevende wandplanken een warme en matte uitstraling. De olie trekt in het hout en zorgt ervoor dat dit niet uitdroogt. Een geoliede wandplank hout blijft ademen en verkleurt langzaamaan. Bij een geoliede wandplank is er keuze uit twee typen oliën: een nature geolied en transparantie geolied. Bij een gelakte wandplank beschermen twee componenten lak de wandplank tegen vocht of vetvlekken. De wandplank hout is rondom dekkend gelakt waardoor het makkelijk schoon te houden is. Ideaal voor in de keuken, badkamer of het toilet. Er zijn drie verschillende lakken die gekozen kunnen worden.
